Double Shot Maggie live

This Band Is Built to Fill a Room

Double Shot Maggie are five accomplished musicians who take traditional Irish songs and run them headlong into punk energy, raw volume, and a genuine love of a good night out. The result is a live act that gets people on their feet fast and keeps them there.

The band's catalogue spans centuries of trad, reels and jigs, modern Celtic rock, and a handful of beloved originals — all delivered with tight musicianship, five-part harmonies, and a stage presence that punches well above the ticket price.

Since forming in 2023, DSM have played headline festival stages, St. Patrick's Day events, weddings, corporate functions, and the best Irish bars in Victoria. They're as comfortable opening a folk festival as they are closing a pub at 2am — and they leave both audiences wanting more.

Known for their easy, friendly and professional booking process, great communication, and flexible setlists, Double Shot Maggie have been invited back multiple times to some of the biggest Irish festivals in southern Australia — because when a crowd has that much fun, nobody wants it to just be a one-off.

The Real Deal! In my opinion the best Irish band in Australia. These guys have an amazing energy and stage presence. Often bands with any sort of theme can be a bit kitschy but DSM are genuine through and through. A must see and hear!

Definitely a cut above any Celtic-Rock band I've seen in years — perhaps since I saw Shane MacGowan with The Popes. Double Shot Maggie have a lot more going on, more depth, than other Celtic-Rock bands I see about. I bought their t-shirt to prove it.

DSM in the Media

SBS — The Secret DNA of Us
Television
The Secret DNA of Us
Double Shot Maggie's accordionist Lucy Riddett was the heart of this SBS documentary episode, which followed her personal journey to uncover her Irish ancestry.
Featured Live Performance

A personal journey, a national broadcast, and a band at full tilt — it made for compelling television. When SBS followed Lucy Riddett as she traced her Irish roots for The Secret DNA of Us, her story led them naturally to her accordion prowess and the high energy Irish punk band she calls home.

The result: Double Shot Maggie captured on SBS, performing live at the Elephant & Castle in Geelong, on national television — proof that sometimes the best way to understand where you come from is to play to your roots: loud, fast, trad.
